A procession of ornamental yamahoko floats was held in Kyoto’s Gion Matsuri Competition on Sunday, for the primary time in three years after a suspension as a result of COVID-19 pandemic.

Twenty-three yamahoko floats paraded on main streets of the town, a spotlight of the standard competition, which is alleged to be one of many nation’s three largest.
